Habits:

In urban areas, they live in the interiors of buildings; in rural sectors they live commonly in exteriors, fundamentally in the weeds.  They live in the foundations of constructions. Generally, they look to settle down near areas of food storage. They are territorial. Each territory is controlled by a dominant male, who does not share his leadership nor territory with other males. A fight between males for the supremacy of a territory is very common.

Reproduction:

 The female has a lapse of gestation average of 19 days. It produces between 4 and 7 young by childbirth. Its production an average of 8 litters during its life. The young reach its sexual maturity in a period that oscillates between 35 and 56 days. They live about a year..

Feeding:

They are basically omnivores; the adults consume between 3 and 4 grams of daily food. Cereals and the diverse seeds are their favorite food.
