They are small but the cost to eradicate bedbugs can be large.
The municipal building at 401 Chambers Bridge Rd. closed Thursday after bedbugs were found there and officials have spent $2,800 on the cleanup, according to township records. Toms River-based Action Termite and Pest Control found two bedbugs: one alive and one dead.
The cleanup cost could still grow during the next couple of months as township officials continue inspections for the blood-sucking parasites, said Scott Pezarras, township administrator.
